Beautiful, healthy sorrel mare, 12 years old, 16hh, 1250 lb. Sleek, spirited, athletic. Well started and sound. AQHA Appendix Code: X0601073.
Missy has been ridden and exposed to many disciplines over the past nine years, such as cow work and ranch roping, trail riding and Dressage. Exceedingly intelligent, she likes women, is sensitive and high-spirited, with a healthy regard for her own safety. Missy requires an experienced rider, and does well with regular work. She hauls, ties, trims/shoes well, and is a sociable pasture horse.
Missy has been used as a hobby horse, with occasional ranch work, annual cattle drives, and trail riding. She is too sensitive for ranch roping where holding a cow with dallies is required. I have taken English lessons with her, and she has promise with regular work.
This mare has never been totally comfortable in predatory or unfamiliar environments (such as open country or riding alone in the mountains), or around cows, but works well in controlled/known environments, such as an arena. She is an excellent prospect for a young lady learning/competing in Dressage or similar arena discipline, and can be expected to perform to the limits of her conformation. Not a "rocking horse," she is too much horse for someone that rides only occasionally.
I am now retired, and have limited riding ability, so I wish to place Missy with someone that will put her to work on a regular basis.
