Benny is a NFHR registered brown dun Fjord gelding. 14.1 hands.
He is solid, sound and SAFE for riders with basic skills on up. He has great ground manners, loads himself, ties, clips, bathes, etc, like a perfect gentleman.
Benny rides english, foxhunts, western, jumps and trail rides alone or with a group, goes over bridges, through water, over logs, etc, without a blink!
His main focus for the last year has been in eventing (horse trials) and hunter/jumper shows. His dressage scores have been in the 30's. His most recent score (2-16-13) was a 34.5, and he finished on that dressage score.
He is one of the safest jumpers you will find. He is brave and willing to the jumps, both stadium and XC, ditches, walls, etc. Jumps cleanly with great knees, rarely has rails down.
Goes great in sloppy footing too, and is the same in wind and/or rain as he is on good and sunny days.
As most Fjords are, he is a super-easy keeper, and is maintained barefoot and on good quality hay or pasture only.
Benny has been shown Beginner Novice, and is currently schooling Novice. He is making the times very easily, and is a pretty forward-thinking Fjord, not a deadhead!
Benny has the sweet temperament to take care of a child rider, but perhaps not a rank beginner, but one who can confidently walk/trot/canter, and the talent and ability to take an adult rider as far as they care to go.
Benny has been the most awesome guy for this adult amateur rider regaining confidence after 15 years of not riding. I am now ready to move up to Training level, and need to find him a great home so he can help another rider take that next step, while I find a bigger horse for myself.
Benny also has several points toward his NFHR Excellence Award for Performance.
