Sophie’s Wings is an 11 year old bay mare who has traveled around the country with us. She has been exposed to some of the roughest country in Colorado where she was used for ranch work and trail riding. From crossing logs or creeks, or going up steep trails she handles everything with ease. On the ranch she was used for gathering cattle off of high mountain pastures, for roping and doctoring yearlings, and for branding calves. We also used Sophie for halter breaking horses of all ages; where she was exposed to tarps, flags, and leading horses. She’s also been hauled a bunch in a trailer and loads fine with or without a saddle. She is gentle and safe. We had plans to show her in some ranch horse classes, but we moved and don’t have the time now. She can spin, stops nice, neck reins, and change leads like a dream.
Sophie has been my wife’s horse for 5 years, and we would love to sell her to someone who will get as much enjoyment out of her as we have. This horse is so safe and will take care of her rider. She would make a great trail horse, kids horse, ranch horse, or however you want to use her. She has been rode double, has a smooth gait, had a whip cracked on her, been bathed, and stands fine for the farrier. She has been turned out with lots of horses in a pasture and gets along fine, but she is not buddy sour on the trails.
