This is the complete story of Archie (Stars of Silver). He is a 17 hands, 13 year old gelding, boarded in South Woodstock, VT. I have used him for pleasure/trail riding. Big, comfortable gaits. Nice in the barn, calm on the trails, wants someone who can be a steady, full-time friend. Smart and likes training. Professional trainer keeps him in shape when we are not in VT. For personal reasons, nothing to do with Archie, I decided to sell him two+ years ago for $6000. Last spring, before we could get him back on the market, he developed throat cartilage (a roarer). Very successful surgery at New England Equine but vets said he cannot do long strenuous activities for risk of a recurrence. So what Archie needs is someone like me (good rider, animal lover) but 20 years younger (I'm 69). If I was in shape to ride Archie, I would keep him. He's a wonderful horse. What I care about is finding him a good home. Don't call unless you can live with Archie's limitations and don't call unless you have vet/trainer references that will tell us it's a good home. You can call our trainer, Christina Phillips, at , or me at .
