This boy had a bit of a late start in life but has come along really nicely and turned out to be a very sweet horse. He works nicely over courses of 2’3” with potential to go higher. He has jumped up to 3’9” in gymnastics quietly, but needs confidence over larger fences. Very consistent leads. He will do his changes out in big open areas but not in a small arena. I think with consistent work he could do well with them because he really wants to figure out his job and just do it.
He requires an intermediate rider as he has days (windy, time off, etc.) here and there where he can get a little hot. Most days he’s very quiet and sweet however and is the kind of guy a beginner would have fun on. I think maybe a confident beginner working with a trainer could handle him well. He has only been to a few shows so I think he would also require some confidence there.
He’s currently stalled at night and out in the day but he has been stall kept and turned out 100% on other occasions and he’s perfectly happy any way. He usually falls somewhere in the middle of the pecking order. Great feet, great for the farrier, goes barefoot, quiet in cross ties.
I am in grad school and my car died, so I am faced with the choice of either selling him or being without a car. I was really looking forward to doing some local shows this summer, but I think that someone else could have a lot of fun and do well showing this season. He could also do the AQHA shows and I think he would do really well with some work in WP.
I would negotiate price to a good home, and would consider payments or a full lease in the area.
