Spirit has extensive experience in everything from hunter/jumper shows, to Hunter Paces, to Pony Club (Dressage, Show Jumping, Eventing). She has probably been to over 100 events (shows, Pony Club Rallies, Clinics, etc.). She has travelled and ridden as far as Connecticut down to Florida. She is great on trails, has fox hunted, ridden in the ocean, swims in the lake, been ridden by several children, etc.
Since my daughter outgrew her a few years ago, Spirit has been in constant use and lesson programs since. She has been used in Pony Club by both my daughter, and the more recent young ladies that have leased her. She is in ready to ride condition and could go to a show or event this weekend without missing a beat. For Pony Club she would be ideal for D2 – D3 level. She has been used successfully from D1 up to C1.
While she is not the most refined and athletic horse, she is very forgiving and really a great, reliable, safe confidence building lesson horse that has done it all… several times over. She will jump to about 3’ both in stadium, and on cross country, but is most comfortable up to about 2’-6” range. She is a trotting machine and will happily lesson day after day.
Contact Steve Bardos for more information. . Lease or sale to good home only. Rider must lesson with experienced, approved instructor regularly to consider lease.
I now have some video available, Email me and I will send them to you.
Note, 4/9/2013. We have dropped the price on Spirit. She has been on back to back trials, but we have not found the right match for her yet. The last barn that tried her loved her, however, their pre-purchase exam showed less than ideal flexion scores in the hind end. The vet did pass Spirit for purchase, and did not believe hock injections would be beneficial at this time - but may be coming down the road (typical in jumpers). As this barn was looking to use Spirit 5 or more days a week, they decided to pass. For an individual family with normal usage, this would probably not have any negative impact on Spirit's abilities, but none the less I want to be up front about the exam results and have dropped the price to reflect the possibility of hock injections down the road.
Thanks
