Capitan Solis, "Captain", is an 8 year old OTTB with some jumping experience. I have had him for about four and a half years now and came to me just 2 weeks after his last race. He raced 17 times but was retired as he was no longer competitive. He won once and placed once in his 17 starts. In the time I have had him, we have trained him to jump and seemed to do quite well with it. He has never shown in jumpers, but has been schooled up to about 3'3". He does have arthritis in his coffin joints, hocks, and front ankles from his racing days, and because of this I haven't jumped him as much recently. His arthritis didn't seem like much of a problem until recently, as he has been injected twice in the last 6 months. I recently started him on an MSM supplement to help the arthritis and he seems to be doing better. I am currently in college and ride 2 horses, including Captain, and I just don't have a lot of free time. He would be a great flat horse as he has very nice gaits and has even taken a few lessons with USDF bronze, silver, and gold medalist Molly Xanthopoulos. He knows shoulder in, leg-yield, and has nice automatic lead changes. He could still jump, just as long as the jumps are small. He does require an intermediate rider as he can be a little fresh sometimes if he hasn't been ridden in awhile. However, he gets ridden in only a loose ring French link snaffle. He loads, clips, and bathes without problems. He can be a little quirky about the farrier, but nothing that is unmanageable. He is up to date on all vaccines and was last dewormed in April. Please give this sweet boy a chance! He loves all people and is a very personable horse with lots of personality and loves to say hi to everyone!
