Blackcomb is an 8 yr old gelding who has been my very good companion for a few years now. He's very big (over 16H), beautiful, powerful & yet docile but not so much that you can't have a little excitement on him! I've had him in local shows & he has won a 1st & a 3rd in a Spotted Pleasure Open Class. We have also been on long trail rides together & in a group. He gets excited & wants to keep up with his friends at first but then settles down and we enjoy the ride.
Blackcomb has done extensive ground work with me and we have been in weekly group classes/lessons that he also does very well in. He's great on the lead, backing up, turning & doing what is commanded of him. He is ridden/trained daily & has always been very level headed and has never done anything that I would not accept (kick, paw, throw or take off) like some other horses that I have owned. I have ridden him in a group that similated drills & competition. Blackcomb loves it & listens well. He can be asked to work hard & fast or can be asked to walk calmly & slow on a trail. I don't have any trouble trailering him, washing him, cleaning his hooves. He does great with the ferrier too. I know that he would be perfect for a good young rider or even an older rider. Some of the 4H younger students that I have ridden with would do great on him. Blackcomb may be a good endurance horse too? He's got a personality & presence.
Come visit with him & you will see that Blackcomb is a very special horse that would make a great companion for an intermediate young rider wanting to gain experience in the ring & on the trails.
So...WHY am I selling? I'm going to be a new grandmother to "2" grandbabies and will have to do much travelling daily to babysit. Not enough time to spend on such a good friend! I won't let him go to just anyone :-)
