"Oscar" is a 4 yr old registered AQHA gelding with a large blazed face & two white hind socks. Stands just under 15 hands, nice withers & a huge beautiful hip. This colt was born & raised on our ranch in southwest Montana so he has been exposed to steep, rocky terrain & knows how to handle himself well. He has been ridden on ice & he is very sure-footed. He has had a rope swung on him as well as started on tracking cattle. He side passes, collects & has the start of a nice stop. Oscar is very sensitive & responsive. He has a fantastic neck rein. He will let you open gates from his back. He loads into a trailer with ease & backs out. We have hauled this colt a lot. He is comfortable around dogs & tolerates most anything. Oscar is very athletic & has great cow-horse breeding. He will make an accomplished horse in the arena or on the ranch. Oscar has been shod & is excellent about handling his feet. We keep him barefoot through the winter & trim him consistently. This is an amazing colt and we have been very impressed with his progress. Reason for selling: We live on a large ranch & enjoy riding young horses in our spare time & then selling them. We were fortunate to purchase Oscar's Dam in foal with Oscar at the VanNorman horse sale in 2008, allowing us to raise such a great colt on the perfect ranch to develop a watchful-surefooted horse. It's a small supplement to our income.
