Diane is a lovely, 10-year-old Thoroughbred mare, about 15.2 hands. She is a sensitive horse, but smart, learns quickly and seems to really enjoy work. Diane is making great strides in her foster home. She will need a patient, confident, experienced rider to help her reach her potential. Here is an update from her foster mom: Diane is both fun and a challenge. She is slow to trust new people, and trust is key to unlocking her potential. From the beginning, though, she was sweet, had good ground and stall manners, got along great with my mare, and really seemed to enjoy the quiet surroundings here. Her "fresh start" is paying off: She now stands quietly on crossties, likes to be groomed and tacked, is great for the vet, and is now doing well for the farrier. We are starting on trails. The relaxation and suppling under saddle is going very well. She still has anxious moments, but they're lessening over time as her confidence builds and she feels good moving under saddle. Diane is doing well in her W-T work and I am starting to reintroduce the canter under saddle. She is capable of beautiful gaits and has the talent, I believe, to do multiple disciplines.
