Josie is a 15.2 hand, light chestnut/almost dun, 5 year old large mule with lovely long ears. She is most happy at this point when she is with her herd of horses, Jasmine’s group of 12 or more. Her ground manners have significantly improved since she arrived at Doxy’s. Josie is delighted to be led with a halter, backs up on command and signal, enjoys being groomed, and is cooperative with having all four feet cleaned and has had her hooves trimmed by the farrier..
Josie is receptive at this point in being under a bareback pad with a girth and stirrups. We have made no attempt at riding her yet. Mules require a great deal of trust in their people before they’re willing to work for them. Josie just needs a lot of love, gentleness and respect. If you’re interested in Josie, watch for updates as we learn more about each other. The adoption fee for this mule is $800. All excellent homes will be considered.
