Self joined the TROT program on March 20, 2012. He retired from racing with a slab fracture to his knee. He will require more time off but once completely healed, he will make a stunning dressage horse. Because of his fracture, he will be limited to flat work only. He currently moves sound.
Self is on his way to a full recovery after a recent long and scary bout of colic. Right now, he is slowly gaining weight again and enjoying his down time after his days of racing. His fractured knee is doing great, no problems at all. Self is a very sweet tall boy who will require someone who is very experienced with OTTB's. He bonds strongly with his person and will keep you smiling with his charismatic personality. He stands well for the farrier and all grooming. He also loves puffed peppermint puffs!
Self is a prospect for flat work only - dressage or hunter under saddle - or he will make a wonderful trail horse.
Adoption Agreement and Conditional Bill of Sale required.
Adoptions are limited to the state of Florida due to required farm checks during the probationary period.
