Rex is a 15.3 solid chestnut paint 12 years old. Very sweet-natured with great ground manners and melt your heart gentle blue eyes. Great walk, nice jog, a even working trot, and a reasonable canter. Soft mouth and sides. He's been trained Western, but rounds up into a lovely English frame when he trusts your hands. Can get over anything on the trail, but not a jumper. He was the "spare" horse before I got him. A lead pony on the track before that. He'll "drive" if his rider does not know how to ride. But, tell him that you are going to drive, he'll listen. Excellent group trail manners, and good on his own as well. Excellent on hills, creeks deer, birds, wind. You can open gates on his back. I think he'd do well in competition trail rides. He loads with no effort, a seasoned traveler. I've owned him for 2 yrs. Easy to catch. Sound. His one vice is that he occasionally cribs, but he's not destructive. No collar needed. He'll "try" a new rider at first like after standing rock still for mounting and you ask him to move on, he'll walk over to the gate and stand there if you let him. Not hard to move on. He'll try to turn back to the barn the first time out. But it's just a little leg and that's it. Easy keeper. He's healthy, sound, and loving. Has every shot out there. Great teeth, done yearly. I do his feet in a natural trim. He will only go to a great match/home. I'm selling because I'm starting to look for a "1" to plod trails with. Rex is a sweet friend and I owe him alot for getting me back out on the trail.
