Folly came from an investigation of neglected horses. He came into the rescue extremely thin and was able to recover in a foster home where he was gelded. As we gained weight we were a little puzzled about the way the weight was going back on him--deep chest, cresty neck, real stocky build. Upon a suggestion we looked into the old fashioned Morgans and discovered that's probably what we have on our hands!
Old fashioned Morgans or foundation Morgans represent the original Morgan breed before the introduction of the saddlebred influence in the 1930s.They are short, stocky and ready and willing to work at almost any discipline!
Folly has a great temperament. He has a gentle soul and likes attention without being a pest. He is in good condition and is completely sound. He went to a great foster home for summer 2012 and was started under saddle. He is green broke with extensive trail experience. Even from day 1 he was happy to tool along with a rider, and he's never had any issues or problems with anything on the trails or in the arena. We used him as a leadline horse at our open house last fall and he was great with kids and others who are completely unfamiliar with how to be around horses. Folly doesn't worry about much and is a good easy-going boy.
Folly's adoption fee is $500.
We only adopt to a homes within a 3 hour radius of Champaign, Illinois and we do require that you fill out an application before we can schedule an appointment.
