The photo was taken the day Mee Kathy arrived at the rescue. She was severely overweight and in fact was battling a severe infection. She had to have surgery twice to help rid her body of the infection. She will most likely continue to have a wound on her side but it is very easy to manage.

Mee Kathy is a 1989 standardbred broodmare. Her pedigree is standardbred royalty, she's an own daughter of Super Bowl, and she's proven herself as a producer. However, that wasn't enough and she was abandoned at the sale barn when she was a "no sale " at a catalog sale. Kathy has nice manners and a very kind eye. Would you consider providing Mee Kathy the retirement she deserves?

We only adopt to a homes within a 3 hour radius of Champaign, Illinois and we do require that you fill out an application before we can schedule an appointment. An application is not a commitment from you, but we have over 40 horses for adoption and this allows our volunteers to make the best use of their time!
